Position Opening for Radiological Control Technician






Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) currently has an RCT
position that we need to fill as soon as possible supporting the Yucca Mountain
Project.  The work location is on the Nevada Test Site at the Yucca Mountain
Project.  Occassional trips to the Las Vegas office would be involved.  Should
you choose to live in Las Vegas, there is a project bus service available.

Description of Position (Duties)
Conducts field surveys and tests in accordance with established procedures and
regulatory requirements to monitor radioactive levels and to determine if unsafe
conditions exist.  Analyze test results manually or by means of computer
programs; documents procedures for equipment use, and completes necessary
paperwork to record findings.  Representative duties include: conduct routine
surveys, develops written operating procedures for radiological test equipment
use, operates personal computer to analyze radiation samples and data, checks
and maintains safety equipment provided for emergency use and other tasks
relevant to radiological and environmental monitoring.

Selection Criteria/Required Skills
Must have formal education or training equivalent to an associates degree or
certificate in Health Physics and 10 years experience.  Must have reasoning
skills to determine the reason for an abnormal condition, to analyze a problem
or situation, and determine alternative courses of action.  Reads, writes, and
verbally communicates at a level to solicit or explain information that is not
highly complex or technical, and compose correspondence and reports.

Salary Range
$29,500- $47,250
