Re: Vendor for Neutron Shielding Material

The company has become part of a larger family:

http://www.nnc-usa.com/products_r.html

"National Nuclear Corporation (NNC) is a recognized leader in the
development and manufacture of innovative products in radiation detection
and protection. Founded in 1968, NNC serves the industry with a
comprehensive line of monitoring systems, portable meters, shielding
materials, and high-purity metals. NNC became part of Thermo Instrument
Systems in 1985. Soon thereafter, Reactor Experiments and Xetex, two
well-established companies within the industry, joined the Thermo family.
To provide the radiation protection community with the broadest, most
complete line of products and services available under one roof, Reactor
Experiments and Xetex became divisions of NNC. Strengthened by the added
development and manufacturing resources of its divisions, National Nuclear
Corporation operates from a modern facility in the heart of Northern
California's Silicon Valley. National Nuclear specializes in contamination
monitoring systems that use highly sensitive plastic scintillation
detectors. Applying its patented design, NNC manufactures systems that
detect contamination on personnel, tools, recycled material, and dry waste.
In addition to alpha, beta, and gamma sensitive instrumentation, NNC
manufactures a wide range of neutron detection systems, and is a world
leader in the development and manufacture of passive and active nuclear
fuel rod scanners

Reactor Experiments is a leading producer of specialized neutron and gamma
radiation shielding materials, and is the world's major supplier of neutron
activation foils and flux wires. With a complete line of composite
shielding materials and high purity metals, Reactor Experiments can meet
the most demanding industrial, medical, and research requirements for
radiation protection, detection, and analysis.

Xetex manufactures a comprehensive line of ratemeters, dosimeters, area
monitors, and sample counters. With applications in utilities,
laboratories, hospitals, and government agencies, Xetex products have
provided reliable service to the radiation protection community since
introducing the world's first commercial dosimeters in 1973."

Subject: Vendor for Neutron Shielding Material

Hi,

I am looking for a vendor to purchase neutron shielding material. Does
anyone have a vendor or can recommend a vendor? I used to purchase
ploy-borated blocks from Reactor Experiments(?) but cannot locate them.
