Re: Our own worst enemy?



Every congressman's first duty (whether they acknowledge it or not) is to
get reelected.  Extremists on an issue are more likely to vote, and more
likely to work to influence others to vote, than satisfied folk.  Thus "The
squeaky wheel gets the grease".
