Bridging Radiation Policy and Science Conference Final Report

Title: Bridging Radiation Policy and Science Conference Final Report

Colleagues:

Representatives from five continents and 20 countries reached consensus on a number of conclusions and recommendations regarding low-level ionizing radiation exposures at an international conference, “Bridging Radiation Policy and Science,” at the Airlie Center in Warrenton, Virginia, 1 – 5 December 1999. The goal of the conference was to develop strategies for formulating national and international policy based on current scientific information in the context of economic, political, and social concerns. The complete final report of the conference may be found at URL: http://www1.misinc.net/burkinc/

The report (all conference participants have had the opportunity to review it) contains a summary of the plenary sessions and a verbatim record of the conclusions and recommendations agreed to by participants on the last day of the conference. The technical program and list of attendees are appended to the report.
