Re:Gamma Spec

If you are using Procount and the Genie 2000 package you can reload a spectrum
from the screen that asks for your count time. Click on the box next to the
statement "Reload spectrum for further analysis". It will ask for the specific
spectrum you want to reload so you will need to know the spectrum file name
assigned to that particular count.
You will also need to change your time to the total time that you want the
spectrum collected, not just the additional time.

Question for gamma spec SMEs, subject matter experts (which I am not):

You count a sample on a HPGe for a certain amount of time, but it doesn't meet a
specific radionuclide LLD. You calculate the new time where the LLD will be
met. Can you, instead of recounting the sample for the entire duration of the
new calculated count time, start the count on top of the original spectrum and
just count for the difference in time between the original count time and the
calculated new time? (acquire a spectrum on top of the original spectrum)

If so, how? We use a Canberra mca.
