RE: Coal mining in Ukraine
I don't have a precise figure, but from the information below, it appears
that 3000 Ukrainian coal miner deaths in a decade would be a minimum figure
(ie. 10 x 350 = 3500 ). But that's still nowhere near as bad as China, where
the annual figure reaches "some ten thousand" among the industry's 7 million
workers.

Miners dying in Ukraine
71 miners died at Ukrainian mines in 1999, 11 of them died of heart failure.
10 miners died in April. Last year 350 miners died in Ukraine.
