Two of six patients exposed to cobalt-60 radiation in Samut Prakan last
month are still in critical condition, the Ministry of Public Health said
yesterday.
Chatri Banchuen, deputy director-general of the Medical Services Department,
said the white blood cell count of the two patients was below 100 counts per
cubic millimetre of blood.

The white blood cell count of another three was between 800-8,000 counts.

The sixth patient being treated at the hospital has almost recovered fully
and would be leaving the hospital in a few days, Dr Chatri said.

Another three patients who left hospital recently would have to continue
treatment for slight burns, he said.
