Radon in a Work Area

There is a work area which was in the past a radium paint shop. The area
has a floor which is suspended approximately 18 inches above the painted
floor which shows low level (approximately 1000 to 50000 dpm/100 cm2) radium
activity. I placed 4 radon test kits in the room (approximately 80' by 50')
and the results indicate a consistent radon concentration throughout the
room of 7 pCi/liter (7E-9 uCi/cc).

The area has been occupied by office workers for approximately 40 years
since the paint shop was removed from the area. People will occupy an
adjacent area for another month.

Are there any control actions that should be taken?

Thanks.
