Grinding Discs

SUBJECT: unconditionally releasing grinding discs

Almost always these grinding discs alarm the SAM-11 (even though they are
"virgin", never been in the Restricted Area).  We've gamma scanned (spec) these
and find plenty of NORM, and occasionally some byproduct material.  Have you
found any byproduct material (like Cs-137, Co-60) in your gamma spec analysis?
Due to global fallout (Cs-137), or part of the manufacturing process?

What is your process for free-releasing grinding discs?
