Its Not Reverse Logic
I think this is more common than you think. On all the shop equipment I know of green is the kill switch and red is the power on switch, illuminated or not. It's sort of a "keep away from this unless you want action" warning. It has nothing to do with traffic control or your perceptions. Red is for the danger state and green is safe mode.
