Mammography risk

This is for the medical types that lurk the list.  I am looking for
information on the risk of semi-annual mammograms.  This recommendation
for the patient is expected to be for at least 2 years, patient is
concerned.  Is this normal if
the medical condition warrants?  Patient is 45 years old, with positive
biopsy for calcifications, with atypical and  pre cancerous cells. No
cancer is noted.
