Nature and Scope of Job
The Safety Labs Division (SLD) in the Hazards Control Department (HCD) has 
an opening for a Scientific Technologist (502.2/502.3) to work as part of
the
Bioassay Laboratory Team. This team provides routine and special bioassay 
analysis support as a critical part of the LLNL internal dosimetry program.
Under general supervision (or minimal supervision at the 502.3 level), the 
successful candidate will support ongoing Bioassay Lab operations. This 
includes
bioassay sample preparation, chemical analysis, instrumentation operation, 
database management, record keeping, laboratory maintenance, quality
assurance
(QA)/quality control (QC) documentation and data reduction, and assisting 
chemists in research and development projects. The level of the position 
(502.2 or
502.3) will depend on the selected candidate's experience and ability to 
perform the essential duties. This position will report to the SLD Leader. 
Interactions
are with Health Physicists, field Health and Safety Technologists, and all
