RE: Tritium Real Time Monitoring

I will suggest you contact Dr. Mario Overhoff at Overhoff Technology

They have a full line of tritium systems with various sensitivity levels and
possibilities for compensation (gamma and noble gas). We use their Model
400SBgC with quadruple 200 cc (flowthrough) ion chambers. It features ~ 10
high level alarm settings, flow and battery alarms. The scale can be
chosen. The sensitivity is listed at ~ 1 µSv/h (~ 1µCi.m-3), however, to
achieve this low level, it needs a carefully controlled operation.
Generally, we tend to relay on this instrument at an order of magnitude
higher.

We use these instruments with gamma or gamma+NG compensations for worker's
protection and to 'sniff' waste for presence of HTO.

It is a nice little instrument and this IS an endorsement.

Our experience with the below mentioned Scintrex is that due to its gamma
compensation (no NG compensation) and sensitivity, we tend to use it only
at committed dose rates from tritium at ~ 1mSv/h.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need further assistance.

Scintrex (bought by IDS), a canadian company, has a great portable device
for that: Model 309A that sucks air and provide you with readings in Bq per
cubic meter, DAC etc.As a matter of fact, they are great for tritium
monitoring of all kind.

Does anyone know of a tritium monitor that can indicate concentration in
real time?? Perhaps have an alarm function.

Thanks
