RE: Nuclear Stuff...

Crashed Nuclear Submarines are even more expensive. (Yes, a former Navy Nuc)

In response to William B Griffith :
I don't think that the jet fighter program is more selective at all, you

just don't know what you are talking about. I was pronounced qualified to
maintain, operate and supervise a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant 1 year, 11
months from beginning the program. Keep in mind that my rate had the
shortest
of initial schools by ten and twenty weeks above the other two rates. I
think
that a 72% atrition rate is pretty selective to boot. In case you didn't
know, the Navy Nuclear Reactors are power generators in that they supply the

entire electrical system for the ship, including navigation equiptment,
medical apparatus etc... I don't think that as far as cost, a training
aircraft costs as much as a training reactor. One more thing, at least the
Navy's Nuke Program is still Operational, unlike the Army's, this is clearly

a tribute to the personnel in the program, maybe the Army should have been
more selective...
                Michael S. Former Navy Nuke.
