UVa has a large research program with approximately 175
               Principal Investigators and a University Hospital.
Position is in the
               Radiation Safety Office which is part of the Office of
Environmental Health
               & Safety. This position manages the bioassay program -
monitors
               radioactive material use levels of RAM users and performs
bioassay
               measurements as required. Assists with radioactive waste
pickup,
               processing and disposal. This includes preparing waste
for incineration,
               sewer release or shipment. Performs various surveys and
inspections of
               RAM-use laboratories. Assists with radioactive material
package check-in
               and delivery.
