STAFF ASSISTANT
RADIATION SAFETY SERVICES OFFICER
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

General Statement of Duties:

Provides radiation safety services within the Environmental Health and
Safety program that meet all applicable safety standards and regulatory
requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, or related field plus two years
relevant experience in radiation safety.  Qualified to serve as an RSO
on applicable licenses including a broad scope license.  
2. Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to nuclear
materials required.  Knowledge of Mass state and local codes preferred.  
3. Experience in higher education radiation safety program preferred.  
4. Ability to work independently or as a team member.  
5. Ability to respond quickly to radiation incidents, including travel
to other campuses, and work in confined hazardous environment wearing
protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus required.  
6. Some nights and weekend hours required.

Hiring Salary Range:     $36,900-$46,100	Normal Starting Salary: 
$36,900-$41,500

PROFESSIONAL STAFF SALARY ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM POSITION LEVEL:  27
