RE: blue flash and criticality



The problem with both the spectrum and directionality is the medium in
which the interaction is occuring. The observed spectrum is not quite the
emitted one, because of the variation of self absorption with
wavelength. Also scattering will redistribute the emitted light altering
the original angular distribution. This is of course qualitative and I
wouldn't contemplate trying to calculate the effects.
