BWX Technologies of Ohio is currently accepting resumes for the position of Radiological
Engineer at its Mound site in Miamisburg, Ohio. This is a DOE site undergoing remediation.
Requires USA citizenship. Following is a summary of the job description.
CHP and MARSSIM experience highly desirable. Provide engineering controls to maintain
exposures ALARA during review of work packages meeting ALARA triggers defined in
Radiological Control procedures
Write radiological control procedures and update existing procedures in response to new
processes, changes in regulations and improved radiological controls
Complete surveillance and assessments of radiological operations and facilities in order to
maintain compliance with federal regulations and improve radiological conditions and practices.
Provide radiological engineering expertise in the design and implementation of engineering
controls, waste minimization and isotopic characterization of contaminants for assigned projects
Response to radiological emergencies and provide support functions as assigned
Perform other specific radiological engineering functions as assigned such as Source Control,
Air Monitoring, MARSSIM process, Subject Matter Expert responsibilities, radiological
performance indicator reports and 10 CFR 835 self assessments, etc.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
CHP desirable
B.S. with seven years experience or M.S. degree and six years experience in radiological
control
Computer skills including ability to use Word Perfect for Windows, Word for Windows, Excel,
Access and Power Point
