Zipper is a good guess. There's also the little buckle tab, on the
waistband, which many trousers have. I've set off airport alarms with the
foil wrapper on a nearly empty tube of mints.

P.S. I've never heard of a seed setting one off. But, as a potential point
of interest, was it an iodine, or a palladium seed, and whose seed was it?
I.e., Theragenics, Best, or etc?
