Re: I-129 Sources

Iodine 129 does emit gamma radiation. In fact we routinely measure it by
it's gamma's with a LEPS detector after chemical separation from
environmental matrices. Energies (keV)/abundances(%) are 29.46/20.4,
29.78/37.8, 33.61/10.2, 34.61/2.4, and 39.57/7.5.

These are very comparable to the energies/abundances of I-125: 27.20/40.5,
27.47/75.6, 30.98/20.1, 31.88/4.38, and 35.49/6.7.

All data from Brown and Firestone, 1987
