A sturdy work shoe should have a heel and non-cloth uppers. I don't think
there is a 'definition' as such this is just my experience. As a side
note, just because ANSI Z41 doesn't require safety shoes you should take a
good look at the physical hazards in the area. If this is a
decommissioning project there will be all the hazards encountered at a
construction site. If you feel you don't need steel toes you may want to
consider steel shanks. A piece of structural steel or rebar though your
foot is no fun. Your Health and safety manual (or representative) should
outline guidance for safety shoes and site inspections.

Does anyone have a good definition of a sturdy work shoe. The
application is for the decommisiong environment when ANSI Z41 safety
shoes and steel toe shoes are not required.
