Radioactive Materials Specialist I Advertisement

Position in an established radiation safety program; responsibilities
include conducting radiation safety surveys, receipt and distribution of
radioactive materials and assist with instrument calibration and record
maintenance.  Position requires either a bachelor's degree in a science
related discipline or an associate degree in health physics with an
equivalent level of experience; experience handling radioactive materials
and operating radiation detection equipment; physically capable of using a
respirator; valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Commercial
Driver's License with a hazardous materials endorsement within 6 months of
employment; ability to comply with the University's Fleet Safety Program
and the CDL Drug and Alcohol Testing program.

Desirable qualifications include experience with chemical and radiation
safety as in a university setting; familiarity with NRC, RCRA, DOT and OSHA
regulations; and computer experience in a Windows environment. Salary range
