Re: shutting down
I think announcement of such things can continue as they do. BUT
organizations that give these trainings often have web sites and
certainly can become sponsors and have links.
Personally I would like to explore ways to have sponsors become a Health
Physics Resource. How many times has someone come on RADSAFE with a
"where can I get" a question - I am SURE that people listening and
associated with vendors would like to send much more than "call me" -
and on the sponsors list such a question could be posed and answered.
I asked my friend with the ISP if we could do something like MYSIMON.COM
- BUT just for our sponsors. He said that was a bit ambitious. But -
who knows - stranger things have happened.
I done conferences before and served as the chair of the group to get
sponsors (not for HPS) and I know how important they can be and I know
there needs to be a way for them to get noticed. The challenge here is
to keep it in line with RADSAFE as it is and WITHOUT ads. THUS the once
a month reminder to all of WHO is paying the bills and wouldn't you
PLEASE pay them a visit.
There are of course things they themselves can do to encourage people to
check out the web site - but that should be for them to discover. From
our (HP) perspective - it should be a good place to go to start a
search.
Keeping EVERYBODY happy will be a challenge.
