For what it's worth, there is apparently some evidence that the risk 
(statistical) of late adult onset breast cancer is less for women who have 
breast-fed their infants (which of course is totally independent of 
cosmic-ray exposure).  This probably has something to do with cell changes in 
the breast post-partum.
