I try to keep out of such discussion after some very bad experience a few
years ago, but I cannot resist now.
Firstly I cannot understand, how a facility in England can ask an American
who is not likely to have the slightest idea about English law, criteria
etc., to work on decommissioning.
Secondly I cannot understand, how an American, who clearly has not the
slightest idea about English law, criteria can accept such work.
Thirdly I cannot understand, how the same American can ask on Thursday
RADSAFE for details concerning decommissioning, when he has to use this
"knowledge" already next week. I think that to know a little about it would
require a course between a few days to a few weeks with excellent teachers.
Finally I cannot understand, how the same American can ask others to work
free of charge for him, whereas he is obviously paid for work he cannot do.
I have this week worked through the latest UK radiation legislation just for
the question of naturally occurring material and I assure you, it was not
easy.
Is this the normal attitude toward such serious questions like
decommissioning?
