POSITION AT BECHTEL NEVADA
HEALTH PHYSICS MANAGER
Bechtel Nevada, a prime contractor the Department of Energy, has an
immediate opening for a Health Physics Manager at the Nevada Test Site
located 60 miles outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Plans and organizes radiation and health physics programs for onsite and
offsite locations. Inspects work areas where potential radiological hazards
may exist to ensure proper procedures are being followed. Provides
requirements for establishing procedures designed to protect personnel and
control radiological hazards which may be present at the work sites.
Reviews and applies regulatory requirements. Develops, revises, maintains,
and integrates procedural documents. Plans and organizes radiological
control programs for existing, upcoming, and proposed projects. Oversees
the analysis of data using standard calculations and techniques and reviews
results and conclusions obtained by Senior Scientists and Supervising
Scientists. Reviews technical information reports detailing radiological
and laboratory results. Reviews analytical and developmental work and
recommends solutions to problems related to various phases of health
physics. Investigates, evaluates, and assesses non-routine occurrences
involving unusual radiation or contamination problems. Provides guidance to
professional personnel including Scientists, Senior Scientists, and
Supervising Scientists. Plans and administers the Radiological Operations
budget.
The candidate must have a BS in Health Physics or related discipline. Ten
years experience in Radiological Safety including seven years in Operations
Management is required. Advanced degrees and/or progression toward
certification (Certified Health Physicist) are desired, and may be
substituted for a portion of the experience requirement. The ability to
work independently or in a team environment on a wide variety of tasks is
critical. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A GOVERNMENT
SECURITY CLEARANCE.
