The general description of the position follows:  Supervises and leads

projects and activities of the Advanced Technology Licensing Program,

Division of Licensing, Registration and Standards (DLRS), Bureau of

Radiation Control (BRC).  Performs highly advanced health physics

(radiological health) work to evaluate proposed equipment, facilities,

procedures and personnel for adequacy to minimize danger to public health

and safety or the environment.  Work involves planning, developing, and/or

supervising project teams involved in licensing activities for processing of

loose radioactive material, industrial (pool type) irradiators,

manufacturers and distributors of radioactive material and/or devices, and

radioactive sealed source and device safety (SSD) evaluations; and

coordinating special environmental projects in the areas of health physics

(radiological health).  May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of

others. Works with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and

independent judgement.  Serves as project leader and/or project team member

in other Bureau activities as needed.
