Geisinger Health System has a job opening for a Medical Health Physicist. 



Geisinger is a broad scope medical and biomedical research licensee with two hospitals (Danville and Wilkes-Barre) and a 31 county network of clinics throughout the Commonwealth. A third hospital will open in late 2001. The Medical Health Physics Department is responsible for diagnostic imaging physics and a comprehensive radiation protection program. 



Duties will primarily include x-ray machine performance evaluations (~130 tubes), support to the quality assurance activities in Diagnostic Imaging, and QC support to Nuclear Medicine operations. Additional duties may involve radiation patient management, teaching and training, inventory and leak testing, auditing, or other radiation protection activities to support the goals and objectives of the department. 



Minimum qualifications are a B.S. degree in Medical/Health Physics or closely related field, and two years of applicable experience. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail, accountability, and multi-tasking abilities are desired. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
