Re: Fuel rod drop incident at Chapelcross station: any infor
Dear Patrick
If you seach Google for a newspaper called the Sunday Herald and go to
its web page you will find a report on the incident. I would assume
that most of the UK newspapers (Guardian, Times, Telegraph, Glasgow
Herald etc) will be reporting the incident today and have something on
their web pages as well. You could also try the SEPA (Scottish
Environmental Protection) and NII (Nuclear Installations Inspectorate)
web sites
As far as I understand 25 fuel rods fell 2.5 feet within the
refuelling machine and their was no release of radioactivity
Best wishes

Dear radsafers
Can anyone provide details about the fuel rod drop incident reported to
have occured last week at the Chapelcross reactor near Dumfries in Scotland?
Maybe someone from the Nuclear Safety Directorate?
Thank you,
Patrick Meyer
