Uranium in urine of Kosovo soldiers

A preliminary and brief message was released last week (four sentences from

TT - a major Swedish news agency) regarding uranium content in urine of

Swedish soldiers who have been in Kosovo. The bottom line was that the

uranium concentrations were four times _lower_ (minus 75 %) after the

soldiers had returned to Sweden. The finding was attributed to the higher

levels of natural uranium in Swedish drinking water.

This leaves a lot of questions regarding residence time in Kosovo, Swedish

origin, statistics and so on. A full report is expected later this fall (at

least one of the Radsafers members is involved so I am sure that we can get

more details later on).

If there is anything essential to correct or clarify at this stage I would

welcome such comments.
