re: Airport safety-xrays

There is currently a draft ANSI Standard, N43.17 under review, that 

addresses personnel security screening systems. I have no information 

as to when it may actually receive final ANSI sanction.



Section 5.1, Subject dose limitation, states "Under maximum operating 

parameters, the effective dose shall not exceed 0.10 uSv per scan of 

the subject's front. The measurement will be made 30 cm from the beam 

exit surface at the location where the maximum emission occurs."
