RE: irradiation of US mail
Hi:
I have problems as it is now. There are places where they X-Ray all
the mail. This
presents a problem when sending out TLD Badges. Even though the
packages have in big 'red'
letters "CAUTION - DO NOT X-RAY", they still X-Ray them.

1. What is the goal?
2. What results do we expect to find?
3. For what threat will irradiation detect?
4. Do we know what effect irradiating, say, pharmaceutical shipments will
have?
5. How many X-Ray units will be needed in all of the post offices?
6. Who is going to pay for all of this?
Just another major knee jerk reaction. Period.
