Edward Radford (1922-2001)
October 23, 2001
The October 22, 2001, edition of the New York Times, page A19, ran an
obituary notice concerning the death on October 12 of Edward P. Radford,
MD. I believe that he was the controversial Chair of the BEIR III committee
who insisted that a linear dose-response relationship described the
low-dose atomic bomb survivor cancer-risk data even though others on that
committee disagreed.
