And I believe that my reply was not only reasonable, but realistic. I tried
to show the absurdity of claiming that at every airport, bus station, train
station and post office an irradiation cell would have to be installed, with
experts operating it .... etc. Look at my original mail for details.

It seems to me that after the dreadful events in New York too many "simple
solutions" have been proposed - from strip-searching at airports to
obligatory x-raying and now. I believe that unreasonable "solutions" could
be avoided by considering their feasability in the first place.
I really do not want to have radiation protection been undermined by single
events. I do not want either to have citizens rights, their dignity (strip
search) and their feelings undermined because of some real or perceived
risks. We have such examples by the dozens in our European history.
I do not know, how big the risk is for me to fly to Hawaii in the end of
October - but believe me, I will take it.
