Senior Scientist
Bechtel Nevada has an immediate opening for a Senior Scientist to perform
internal dosimetry measurements results review and dose assessments at the
Nevada Test Site, 60 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada. U.S. citizenship and
ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
Successful candidate will compile data and participate in the preparation of
technical information reports detailing radiological and laboratory results;
perform analytical and developmental work and recommend solutions of
problems related to various phases of health physics; and perform technical
evaluations and develop technical basis for dosimetry related activities.
Successful candidate must possess a B.S. degree in a physical science plus 8
years experience in implementation of Radiological Control programs, or
combination of relevant training and experience. Strong technical knowledge
of radiation protection systems, principles, calculations, methods, and
materials. Desired knowledge of and experience in radiochemistry,
laboratory analysis techniques, statistical analysis, counting equipment
operation and procedure, laboratory quality control, and quality assurance
programs and practices. Current knowledge of industry and regulatory
standards and criteria pertinent to internal dosimetry. Certification by
the American Board of Health Physics is desired.
