RE: fishkills
Ditto! In spades!
The ad hominem argument will only alienate people we hope to win over, and
result in an inference that our technical argument is weak. Keep it
professional. :-)

I have some thoughts on this thread and others involving anti-nuke
statements, so be warned: this is an opinion piece.
I am sure that the vast majority of radiation professionals disagree
with Norman Cohen and other anti-nukes. But there is one way in
which
he seems somewhat superior to some of us: He generally manages to
make
his statements without being insulting or demeaning.
Not long ago Bernard Cohen was defending his research on this forum
against vigorous and semi personal attacks. That I know of, he
never
failed to respond in a balanced and professional manner. This sort
of
unshakable demeanor is something I don't myself often display, but I
know I should.
Its good to refute bad science, but its better to do it without
getting
personal. We are (or should be) a scientific forum - verbal attacks
do
not become us.
