RE: Iodine devolatizer

In the NEN Safe Handling Guide it states that volatilization of I-125/I-131

waste can be minimized by the "addition of a solution of 0.1M Na2S2)3, 0.1M

NaI, and 0.1MNaOH."

Would anyone have any recipe or reference information for a solution that

would assist in preventing the volatization of iodine-131? Seems like the

recipe included Sodium Thiosulfate.

Thanks.
