RE: FW: HP Position Available in Texas
All,
An observation - As reported in this month's HPS Newsletter the median
salary for state government employees with a BS is 47.5k and those with a MS
is 67.5k. Generally speaking, State and University HP's are at the bottom
of the pay scale when compared with their federal and commercial counter
parts. However, in light of that it would appear that the salaries in Texas
still do not approach pay considered typical of state employment.
The thoughts expressed are mine, mine, all mine!
I'm with the government, I'm here to help........

This certainly doesn't strike me as an attractive salary.
Several DOE contractors on Hanford are presently hiring Senior RCT's for
$53k/yr + overtime.
Of course this doesn't include the glamour of working for the Texas State
Government.

$3111/month (< $40k/yr) to perform: "...advanced health physics
(radiological health) work...". You're joking, right? This will convince a
lot of
top students to pursue that hp degree.
The opinions expressed are strictly mine.
It's not about dose, it's about trust.
Lets look at the real problem, for a change.
