Re: pstd/Mobile Chernobyl

Excellent points, Tim!

By the way, while Norm is working on his response, let me make a prediction

about it: it will have a nice, folksy, friendly tone. And no substance.

I've got nothing against Norm personally, but every time a factual error or

distortion by the antis is pointed out, Norm gives us an "aw shucks" brush

off. (Of course, if we were as flippant about addressing concerns, the

antis would be...hmmm, let me guess... outraged?)

Point out that "Mobile Chernobyl" is a gross misrepresentation, and we get

a nod/wink/whats-a-little-exaggeration-among-friends response. Point out

that there may be negative health consequences to giving the antis what

they want, and we get a resounding....silence. It's not Norm's fault.

There really are no good responses the antis can give, except maybe that

they haven't done their homework, and they sure can't admit that.

By the way, has anyone else noticed the reversal of roles when it comes to

hyping sources of energy generation: It's now the so-called environmental

activists promoting their version of "energy too cheap to meter": the sun

is free, the wind is free, and harnessing them has no health or

environmental impacts, tra-la, tra-la. They used to say this about

hydropower, too, until some of them changed their minds when it was

implemented on a large scale.

If nuclear pwoer were SO bad,

then they could attack it on the merits alone without

resorting to the tactics they use.

Comments......Norm....?
