I suspect that with a trademarked item there would be consequences, that is,
the Coca-Cola company would have recourse through the courts. However, if a
generic cola drink or soda were implicated, then the Coca-Cola company would
have no standing. Didn't the beef producers in Texas sue Oprah Winfrey over
her comments about beef during the BSE episode? I don't think the beef
producers won their case against Oprah, but I don't really remember.
