Re: BERT, DARI, etc.



BERT: 'Background Equivalent Radiation Time' -

includes all natural background dose.  Units are units

of time, like 'days,' 'weeks,' etc.  'BERT' isn't

really a unit.



Examples of how the concept would be used are in this

For example, a chest x-ray is quoted as giving the

equivalent of 10 days of natural background.



DARI: 'Dose Annuelle due aux Radiations Internes'

[annual dose from internal radiation].  Only considers

internal radiation like 40K.
