Representatives of Canada’s nuclear workers will be participating in a 350 km relay marathon run in Sweden between Malmo and Goteborg on May 15. The event is being hosted by the World Council of Nuclear Workers, an international organization of unions and worker associations from 22 nations around the world. The Canadian chapter is the Canadian Nuclear Workers Council (CNWC), an alliance of all the unions and organized labour associations found within Canada’s nuclear industries.

Dave Shier said that the run will serve as a public reminder of the role of
nuclear power in providing clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
