Wyeth Research is looking for a hands-on Radiological Engineer II to provide technical expertise and conduct daily radiation safety program activities at our Broad-Scope A licensed R&D facility located in Andover, MA. These activities include, but are not limited to, conducting rad safety training, protocol review, developing improved approaches to monitoring, training, and procedures; supervision of junior staff, package receipt and shipment off-site, dosimeter management, laboratory audits, reports, decontamination, source leak-testing, materials inventory, survey meter calibration, waste management, database maintenance, bioassay sample preparation and interpretation, and other duties assigned by the RSO.  This is a hands-on position as the successful applicant will be expected to conduct and, or supervise, all of the above activities independently.
 
A BS Degree in health physics, industrial hygiene, physics, chemistry or biology with 6-7 years experience performing radiation safety current good practices under a USNRC or Agreement State broad-scope radioactive materials license or an MS degree with 4-5 years experience is required.  Certification by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists or successful completion of part 1 of the American Board of Health Physics examination is desirable.  Experience with the use of open and sealed radioactive materials, radiation measuring instrumentation, radioactive waste management and radiation safety/health physics in a research environment is necessary. Computer experience (MS Office, etc.) and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
