The University of Texas at Austin is currently seeking applicants for Safety Specialist III/Deputy Radiation Safety Officer for the department of Environmental Health & Safety. The essential functions of this position will be to serve as Deputy Radiation Safety Officer for improvement of the Radiation Safety Program and maintaining the program in a high state of operation and readiness; as Deputy Laser Safety Officer in maintaining the program with continence of the comprehensive training, regular inspections of laser installations, updating web-based registration program, and be the leader in the State Laser Safety Program. Work with Occupational Safety in the performance of accident and preventive investigation. Perform compliance reviews and assurance in monitoring campus compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, permits and licenses. Assures compliance initiatives are developed, implemented and reviewed. Monthly salary is $3680 negotiable depending on qualifications, plus excellent fringe benefits.
