U in seewater



Thanking all who took time to comment and correct, here are the findings:



U in seewater is 3.3 ppb by weight; total solids about 3.5 %.

In the US last year, solar and evaporated salt sales were 9.85 M (short?)

tons.



Hence I compute U to salt ratio to be about 1 to ten million.



That leaves about one ton of U in the US in the waste stream of salt

production processes (unless, heaven forbid, it is in the salt). No idea

what goes on with rock salt.



Not a major source for U. Maybe an opportunity for research funding?
