RE: What to do ? ? ?
Hello from Eneabba!
I've been following this thread on an 'on-off basis' and, probably, no one
posted this here yet (my apologies if you've seen this already).
Australasian Radiation Protection Society has a press release on its web
site, entitled "Potential Impacts of Dirty Bombs". You can read it at
http://www.arps.org.au/Dirty_Bombs.htm

Kind regards

appreciated. I need to digest what's been posted and follow up on some of
the reading assignments.
You are quite welcome. However, today I got to thinking about what
unexpected things -- things you have no control over --could happen to
affect your health and well-being, and that of your family that are much
more likely than any health effect from non-occupational exposure to
ionizing radiation. here is a short, non-inclusive list list:
1. car accidents: the risk is about 10% of being in one, and about 1 % of
its being fatal.
2. eating undercooked hamburgers at a fast-food takeout
3. west Nile virus froma mosquito bite
4. hantavirus from mice
5. Legionnaire's disease from mold in ventilating and air conditioning
systems
6. bicycle accidents (if you bicycle, as I do)
7. respiratory irritation from Southern California smog (note I am not
saying "death" or even "disease" -- I am not overstating)
8. a household accident: falling off a ladder, slipping in the tub, etc.
9. being attacked by an unrestrained dog (my daughter suffered separation
of all ligaments in her left knee from such an accident)
