Re: Security at U.S. Nuclear Labs Called Unacceptable

The report contains many specific allegations, including:

1. ... LANL had no system in place to determine which information systems security officers had completed required annual training..."

2. "...LANL information security policies and procedures Cyber Security Handbook was not kept up to date, and 'contains conlicting, contradictory and outdated information.'"

3. "..there was no current disaster recovery plan in the Cental Computing facility..."

4. "Although there were several force-on-force exercises that resulted in the protective force's inappropriate use of deadly force and 'killing' civilians or bystanders...the DOE Response stated that 'there is not a specific requirement for a site to separately report incidents of inappropriate use of deadly force during FOF ...

exercises.'"

There are many more of these.

Since, after careful consideration, you determined that this report is "more than enough dribble for a month or two...", I'm sure that you have the missing information that will categorically refute each of these allegations.

My only request is that you share this information with the rest of use, so we, too, can feel better about DOE security.

The opinions expressed are strictly mine.

It's not about dose, it's about trust.

Curies forever.
