RE: NY Times - nuke guards swamped by overtime
More on Federalizing security guards...
More on Wackenhut...
Wackenhut, the leading employer of nuclear plant
security guards, is also the prime contractor for DOE
facilities. Moreover, Wackenhut runs the DOE's
security training facility in Albuquerque. They train
all DOE security guards and recently trained several
intelligence oficers in the NRC's NSIR group.
So, this private security organization who trains
Federal teams is somehow incapable of training
competent private security guards for nuke plants? I
guess some people would rather replace the teachers
with the pupils.
In addition to this, in a recent competition,
Wackenhut security guards (those untrained,
unprofessional, incompetent private security bafoons -
this is sarcasm) won first place.
Who did they beat out? 16 other teams. Who did those
other 16 teams consist of?
- International counter-terrorist team
- Federal police
- Community police
- a small bunch of guys known as the U.S. Marines
Strange...Wackenhut is somehow incapable of training
security guards for nuclear power plants but somehow
manages to train people to beat out such amateurs such
as international counter terrorist teams and
the US Marines.
*yawn* These silly accusations of nuke plant
incompetence are really getting annoying.
