Permanent HP Technician Opportunity in St. Louis
Tyco Healthcare/Mallinckrodt has an immediate opening for a Health Physics
Technician on the radiopharmaceutical production team at our St. Louis area
plant. This position will be first or second shift and will require
overtime, weekends, and occasional holiday work to support the business.
This is not a per diem short-term position.

Typical Responsibilities:
* Perform radiation and contamination surveys.
* Perform air and environmental sampling.
* Collect and analyze samples to determine radioactive content..
* Provide Health Physics support for production and maintenance
activities (job coverage).
* Assist in incident investigations and propose corrective actions.
* Participate on dose reduction teams and assist in the development of
dose reduction projects
* Calibrate Health Physics equipment.
* Respond to radiological incidents (spills and contamination events).
* Audit programs and processes to insure they comply with licenses,
regulations and policies.
* Write and modify standard operating procedures.
* Evaluate proposed uses of radioactive materials.
Qualifications:
* Two years college science or equivalent.
* Two years Health Physics experience.
* Must have good communication skills, verbal and written.
* Must have good inter-personal skills.
* Must be willing to work overtime for scheduled returns and emergency
call-ins.
* Must be a self-starter, willing to take responsibility and have
ability to make decisions.
* Must be able to advise plant personnel and resolve conflicts in a
professional manner.
