Salary Range: $35,496 - $42,732 per year
Work Term: Full-time (100%)

The Office of Environment, Health & Safety's mission is to promote
health, safety and environmental protection in teaching, research,
public service and administrative activity by providing expertise,
programs, direct services and compliance assistance.
The Radiation Safety Team is responsible for
Duties:
Provide technical support to the Radiation Safety Program in the
Office of Environment, Health & Safety. Perform surveys of
research laboratories and work areas for compliance with applicable
permits, laws, and regulations. Produce technical reports. Calibrate
radiation survey instrumentation. Receive and deliver shipments of
radioactive materials. Maintain databases of technical
information. Perform other duties as assigned to support
Radiation Safety Program functions.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Required:
- Combination of education and experience
equivalent to graduation from high school or a General Education
diploma and two years of experience in an environmental, health and
safety program, or two years of college including appropriate science
courses and one year of experience in an environmental health and
safety program.
- Proven oral and written communication
skills to effectively convey relevant information.
- Proficient computer skills (Macintosh
preferred).
- Prior work experience in an
environmental, health, and safety profession.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and
abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties
assigned to the position.
Other Requirements:
- Possess and maintain a valid California
Driver's License.
- Ability to move items weighing up to 25
lbs.
- Ability to squat or crouch for a
sustained period of time.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of the following Microsoft
computer applications: Microsoft Word, Filemaker Pro, Microsoft
Excel.
- Experience with database programs
including developing reports, accessing information, and entering data
(Filemaker Pro preferred).
